We are breeders of top quality German Shepherd Dogs located in Kansas. The philosophy of Tuchscherer Kennels is based on the bond of respect and love between you and your dog. We guarantee whether it is a companion or show dog, to have them examined by a certified Veterinarian and will provide a Health Certificate on the day you receive your puppy/dog. We will be happy to answer any questions you may have or at least give excellent references as to where you can obtain information. We provide a copy of a 5 Generation Pedigree with all the appropriate paperwork for each dog's registration.
About Us
My love of animals has carried me through the good and the bad times. I have had various breeds during my life-time; but the German Shepherd is the breed that caught my heart. Their temperament, intelligence, spirit, and beauty is what I was looking for in a breed.
But none of this could have been possible without my wonderful husband, Jerry. Jerry and I started this journey when we only had two dogs and now he is there with me when we have 10. We are both constantly learning about the German Shepherd, but Jerry is learning in leaps and bounds. But then there is all he contributes in helping me maintain the current kennels; designing our “New” kennels; and putting up a “practice” field where I can train.
Between us we have three fantastic children (Tricia, Peter, and Morgan) now living in all parts of the country on their own with their incredible “significant” others (Allan is Tricia’s husband - whom we thank for this beautiful website - and Deann is Pete’s wife) and two beautiful grandchildren (Alyssa & Austen) that Tricia and Allan have brought into our lives.
At home we have our “four-legged” children: Little Joe our German Shorthair and Macho our Missouri Foxtrotter (that I trail ride on for relaxation). Our beloved Boxer, Rocky, has recently left us for the 'Rainbow Bridge'. Then, of course, there are our German Shepherds: Jule, Alina (Lena), BamBam, Havoc (Vicki) & Hula (Ula).
My mother, Lois, has always been an inspiration, and vital to the belief that the dream of having a kennel can come true. She has taught me that with hard work and a gentle touch, all things are possible. Mom also receives and handles all the paperwork, to keep our records for the kennels plus makes all the trips with me to deliver and pickup and dogs or puppies. She is also there to support me during the shows; is my “cheering” section and gives me the encouragement to “keep running”.
